Two companies I'm so thankful I found recently...my tastebuds and tummy are loving them!
I am SO thankful for two companies that I have found in the last few months! They are small mom/pop type operations but are doing it so well and align with my desire to know what I'm eating and drinking. I also LOVE supporting individuals and small businesses that might just be doing a dance because I placed an order with them. (I totally get that since I do that every time I get a new customer.)

So, I love when a company is so totally transparent about what they use in their finished products, desire to use the highest quality ingredients and aren't going to cut corners to get there just to price their product lower than the competition. That sentence sounds a bit diva I just now realize. Which is funny because I'm so far from diva.... except in what I put in and on my body.

I want to be able to pronounce everything, know exactly what it is they are listing as an ingredient and know that they used organic ingredients or actually even better than organic since that term really has been diluted as of late. This all comes from my learning and observing how Young Living grows and produces it's essential oils and other products. That's how they function SO I AM HERE for other companies that operate similarly.

I'm finally getting to why you chose to read.... I have NO idea where I first heard about Bread of Heaven but I'm so thankful I did. They are a family-owned company out of Indiana that offers an AMAZING PRODUCT, and they have the very best customer service!! You can place one-time orders or do subscription and save a bit (I'm all about subscriptions for being intentional about something). My favorites are their Cinnamon Sourdough Bagels sweetened with dates (make sure you read how they are best prepared) and their Cinnamon Sourdough Bread for French toast. One super fun thing is that they pop in an individual treat into every order so you can try that as well. It's usually a muffin. You can get $5 off your FIRST ORDER using this link.
So, if you get the Cinnamon Sourdough Bagels...grab a high-quality butter and put a couple of pieces on your sliced bagel. Toast in toaster oven or oven for less than a minute. THEN turn on oven to 350 and bake for 2-3 minutes. I empty the dishwasher or get our supplements all set out during this time. Trust me...you don't just want to grab these from the fridge and eat them. Let me know what you think!

Next...The Asheville Tea Company is my newest favorite!! I discovered them after having lunch with my friend Michelle in a cafe in Asheville in August. I've only had the Spiced Apple Butter (it is the very best herbal tea I've ever had) and Asheville Grey (this will replace my Stash Earl Grey) but I'm looking forward to trying other tea flavors on their rotating seasonal menu. We believe in creating the most delicious cups of tea, using a local, farm-to-teacup approach to ingredient sourcing is their mission. I love it and it doesn't hurt that Asheville is just about my favorite corner of the world!

I'm so thankful there are companies out there that understand that using quality ingredients matters...because we have this one body, and we need to steward it as best we can.

Meet Kara Mayfield

Several years ago I was so anxious about life and not handling it well and definitely not sleeping well. My shoulders stayed bunched up and there were days I did more yelling at my girls than encouraging them. No matter if I slept super well (rarely) or not...the afternoons were a black hole for me because I had no energy to do anything. I almost never had 2 productive days in a row because I would be too tired.

During this same time period our youngest daughter was missing dozens of days of school each year because she got sick with every germ that entered our county it seemed. I was SO tired of getting calls to go get her at school. I was also so tired of being so tired!

It got so bad, in fact, that I was sure one night I was having heart issues. I took myself to my doctor. He ran tests and quickly determined it wasn’t my heart but anxiety. I left his office with a prescription for meds and told this was just part of my life at this stage of life. I took these for a few weeks, maybe a couple of months, but took myself off because I’ve never been a fan of meds and couldn’t really tell they were helping a whole lot. I still wasn’t in a good place between this anxiety and then having a sick kid home so many days when she should have been at school. But I just decided to paint on a happy face and make do.

A blogger I regularly read started posting about how she was helping her family stay well and feel better. I was super intrigued and wanted to learn more. Since I didn’t know her, I asked around until I found someone I knew to answer my questions and educate me a bit. Once I learned a bit I was sold and ready to go. I’ll be honest though...I thought it was just a neat thing. I had NO IDEA it was going to help me and our family in so many life-changing ways.

I love that I don’t feel wound up tight anymore and can enjoy this life I have been blessed with. Our daughter doesn’t miss school for being sick anymore. In fact, she’s on her 2nd or 3rd year of no missed days for being sick. I have so much more energy all day long and I’m sleeping so much better. I don’t have to paint on a happy face anymore...I actually feel happy and am positively thriving in so many areas of life now, not just surviving.

Guess what? My daughters are thriving too because our relationship is SO much better because they feel better but they are around a mama that is not yelling at them but being an encourager and positive motivator in their lives. It's made all the difference!

Come join our group of mamas desiring to not just survive but positively thrive in our exclusive community and learn how you can thrive in life and not just paint on a happy face.
